The roots of Lawn it! are literally spread along a strip of land near Jongensfontein Golf Club. Stretching over a vast area, the sight of which calls to mind a neatly mowed, deep green grass airstrip.
It is along this strip of land that we continuously cultivate our quality, healthy grassy product. This is where we harvest the grass sods that we supply to clients as well as roll out to create those beautiful instant lawns.
We scrape the grass off just under its shallow root mat, then roll it up, hoist the grass rolls onto the truck and transport it to their new destination. And, of course, we use the cleared space to propagate new grass to ensure continuous supply of grass.
At the destined site, we either drop the rolls of grass, or, if so requested, we install the instant lawn for you where you want it.
We spill the blood and sweat, and all you have to do, is water it regularly. After about a month the new lawn should be well settled and growing away happily.
The price, of course, depends, on whether we deliver and install, or simply deliver and you do the work yourself.

Not only are we adept in caring for and harvesting grass, but we are also skilled and experienced in installing instant grass. Using stakes and string, a measuring tape, level and planks we carefully prepare the ground for the installation of the lawn.

Of course, to provide our various services, we need certain tools. For those smaller projects, one can get away with less impressive implements such as a shovel/spade and pick. Also lawn, garden and sweep rakes, a garden fork, wheelbarrow, thumper, hosepipe and sprinkler, broom and such.
When installing a large lawn, we typically make use of all of the above mentioned tools, as well as a lawn roller for flattening and levelling. Also a spiked roller or aerator for airing, rotovator or tilling machine to break up and churn the soil, etc.
At the grass farm we make use of a turf cutter/remover machine to remove the grass; a truck fitted with a lifting arm to load the grass sods. Of course, each of these tools, machines and implements require certain techniques and skill to use or operate optimally.
Apart from the couch grass or kikuyu for the lawns, we make use of other materials as well for landscaping and retaining walls. Decorative materials such as crushed stone, poured interlinking concrete planter blocks, timber, bricks, stones, concrete rings for trees, etc.
Mowing & Lawn Care Tips
